Maria is a mother of 2. After having amazing birth experiences with both
children, Maria is eager to assist expectant mothers and their families to
have the wonderful birth experiences they hope for and deserve.
Maria is completing her certification to be a DONA (Doulas of North America)
International Certified Doula. As the final step to complete her
certification she will be providing her doula services for 3 births on a
volunteer basis. If you (or someone you know) are due in November or early

What is a doula?
A doula is a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous
physical, emotional and informational support to the mother and her partner
before, during and just after birth, as well as provides emotional and
practical support during the postpartum period.
Studies have shown that when doulas attend birth, labors are shorter with
fewer complications, babies are healthier and they breastfeed more easily.
The Doula Package...
Maria's complimentary doula services will entail:
* An initial meeting or phone conversation to serve as an
introduction, answer questions and determine if Maria's doula services are
desired by client.
* Two prenatal home visits to become acquainted and discuss desires
and plans for upcoming birth
* Availability via phone and email throughout for any questions, etc.
* Ability to provide recommendations for relevant books, services,
etc.
* On call 24/7 for 2 weeks prior to due date
* Attend labor and birth to provide assistance including relaxation,
breathing, massage, position, verbal techniques, etc.
* Present 1-3 hours after childbirth to assist with settlement and
breastfeeding
* 2 post-partum home visits to assist with baby care, breastfeeding,
etc.
